Firstly, this mount is a work of art, so it’s a shame it’s hidden under the car.

I have a CAE shifter which is mounted to the chassis rather than the transmission (which is the case for the factory shifter). This means that any movement of the transmission is reflected in an exaggerated manner by the shifter. Installing this mount resulted in a stiff connection for the transmission, which means no transmission movement and therefore no shifter movement. On roads where previously the shifter was shaking from side to side, it is now stable.

The difference is dramatic, with the only downside being increased NVH, but if you are bothered by that you probably shouldn't be modifying your Subaru.
